Fabulous Farm House, Part 1

This post is the first of 3 posts from the same open home.  The homeowners had just moved into the home of their dreams, but realized their furnishings did not work well in the new space.
Before, the sofa was dark and small and the room lacked personality.
We started with painting the mantle a glossy black, giving it weight and depth.  Above it, a handpainted fresco by Maryvonne La Parliere is illuminated by new lighting.  Silk drapes with citron green dragonflies soften the windows and dramatic red leather chairs add a pop of color.
Before, the colors were monotone.

Now, the fireplace and windows are features.
A touch of whimsy with embroidered dragonflies serves as a backdrop for a dramatic silk chaise.
What a stylish place to sit back and read!
